Aaron Schwartz | Facets

I am an artist, designer, and some day soon an architect.

I grew up in Senatobia, Mississippi where at a young age I was drawn to art. At the age of 14 I was privelaged enough to take art classes under Annabelle Meacham (a famous Mississippi surrealist artist). I acquired an Associates of Arts in 2007 at Northwest Community College. I was then accepted into the School of Architecture, Art and Design at Mississippi State University. There I produced a documentary, was published in BarnWorks for my undergraduate architectural work, and traveled to: Toronto, Canada; New York, NY; and others. In 2012 I graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture.

After graduating, I attended a Tom Mayne (Principal of Morphosis) lecture at Tulane University that stuck with me. As soon as I got home, I began designing the style that you see before you along with another. It was a build up over years of knowledge and inspiration ,which finally came to a head. In Febuary of 2013 I showed my work at a local coffee shop (Sneaky Beans) in Jackson, Mississippi. In August of 2013 I got married to the love of my life and five days later we moved across the country in the search for an architecture and art career. Two weeks after arriving in Truckee, CA, I landed a position with Olson-Olson Architects. In January of 2014 I had a gallery opening at a local Salon | Gallery (Coupe Sixty-One) and another show at Lorien Powers Studio. I have just moved near Memphis, TN and have a job with Clark | Dixon Architects. I look forward to what the future holds.
